http://www.deepfreeze.it is now live!
From the site:
DeepFreeze is a journalism reference resource, conceived to supply a reader with easy-digestible information to determine the reliability of an individual writer or outlet.
DeepFreeze strives, whenever possible, for maximum objectivity — supplying factual information so that readers can form an opinion on their own.
For the time being, DeepFreeze is focused mostly on online game journalism, although mainstream press might be more carefully examined in the future.
Some of the GameJournoPros all-stars I’d like to highlight are:
- Leigh Alexander
- Ben Kuchera
- Kyle Orland (founder of GameJournoPros)
Check out their pages, and make sure to spread the word! Link to their DeepFreeze pages whenever you can! Gamers finally have a way of holding corrupt journalists and outlets accountable for their actions thanks to this excellent resource.
EDIT:
I somehow forgot to add one of the worst offenders, Cara Ellison. The games she shills for her friends, some of which have gone on to be IGF finalists, are especially terrible. Think of incomplete, high-school level flash projects; that’s what these games look like. And this “journalist” deems them fit to shill on major gaming publications (not to mention the IGF, which is another story). As a consumer, this is unacceptable and a waste of my time. So there you go.
